How we clear them
High-pressure jetting scours the full bore of the pipe instead of punching a hole through the blockage, which is why the drain stays clear longer than after rodding. Where roots or a broken pipe are the cause, we tell you what we found and quote to fix it properly.
Stormwater must not go into the sewer
Gutters, downpipes and yard drains must not be connected to the sewer. Rainwater overloads the municipal system and backs up into houses lower down the line, and a stormwater connection to the sewer is one of the items a plumbing certificate of compliance inspection checks.
Questions people ask
Can I clear a blocked drain myself?
A plunger often clears a single blocked basin or sink. If several fittings are slow at once, or the yard gully overflows, the blockage is further down the line and needs jetting.
Why does my drain keep blocking?
Repeat blockages usually mean roots in an old clay pipe, a sag where waste settles, or fat building up from the kitchen. Jetting clears it; fixing the pipe stops it coming back.
