ProSol Plumbing & Solar · Terms and conditions

The fair print

Who we are, how our estimates, quotes, payments and guarantees work, and the rules for this website, in plain words.

Last updated 27 October 2026

1. Who we are

ProSol Plumbing & Solar is the trading name of Prosol Plumbing And Solar (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).

2. What we do

Plumbing repairs and installations, geysers, solar water heating, heat pumps, solar PV and backup power, renovations and plumbing Certificates of Compliance, done on site at your property in Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay, Paarl, Franschhoek, Wellington, Klapmuts, Kuils River and Brackenfell. Each service has its own page on this site, and every estimate or quote lists exactly what the job includes.

We do not sell subscriptions or recurring services. Every job is its own agreement. How and when the work reaches you is set out in our Refunds & Cancellations policy.

3. The online check is a guide, not a diagnosis

The “what’s wrong?” check on this site sends what you describe and any photo to ProSol, and a person reads it. Nothing on the site diagnoses the problem by itself, and nothing behind a wall or in a roof can be judged from a photo, so a plumber on site has the final word.

If water is pouring, you smell gas, or water is near electricity, switch off at the mains and phone us on 081 559 2180. Do not wait on a website.

4. Prices, estimates and quotes

  • All prices are in South African rand (ZAR). Every estimate, quote and invoice shows the price before VAT, the VAT at 15%, and the total you pay.
  • Before we come out, we tell you the call-out fee. It covers getting to you and the first hour on site, which includes finding the problem and pricing the repair. Nights, Sundays and public holidays cost more, and we tell you that rate before we come.
  • An estimate is our price before the work is fixed: a range before anyone has seen the job, or an itemised total on your job’s own link. It costs you nothing. Once you accept it, it is your quote. If the job turns out to need anything more, we tell you the new price and do no more until you approve it.
  • A quote is a fixed price for the work it describes, valid for the period printed on it. Work that turns out to be different from the quote is priced and agreed with you before it is done. We never charge more than an estimate or quote you accepted unless you approved the difference first (section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act).
  • Work goes ahead once you accept the estimate or quote and, where it asks for one, the deposit is paid. Larger jobs may ask for a deposit, shown on it, which buys the parts. Your visit is booked once we tell you the day and the plumber. The balance is due when the work is finished, as set out on your invoice.
  • We issue Certificates of Compliance where the law requires them.

5. Checking before you accept

Your estimate comes to you on its own link, and you see all of it before you accept: every line, the VAT, the total and any deposit. If anything is wrong or you want something changed, message us and we send a corrected one. Nothing is agreed until you press Accept, and you are free not to.

Accepting it means you agree to it, to these terms and to our Refunds & Cancellations policy.

6. Paying

  • By card, on your job’s own link: wherever the link shows a Pay button, for the deposit once you accept your estimate, and for the balance on your invoice when the work is done. You pay on Stitch’s secure payment page, by Visa or Mastercard. Stitch is our payment provider: you are paying Prosol Plumbing And Solar (Pty) Ltd, a business in South Africa, in South African rand (ZAR), and its payment page names us as the business you are paying.
  • Before you pay by card, you tick the box beside the Pay button to accept these terms and our Refunds & Cancellations policy. The Pay button works only once it is ticked, for a deposit and for a balance alike.
  • By EFT: to our FNB business account, with your job number as the reference. The account details are on every quote and invoice.
  • In cash, if you arrange it with the office.

7. How online payments are kept safe

  • Card details are typed into Stitch’s secure payment page, not into ours. ProSol never sees, receives or stores your card number.
  • Stitch holds PCI DSS Level 1 certification, the highest level of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard that Visa, Mastercard and the other card schemes set for anyone who handles card details.
  • Your bank checks card payments with 3-D Secure, a one-time PIN or an approval in your banking app, wherever your bank and card support it.
  • This website and the payment page are served only over HTTPS, so what you send is encrypted on the way.
  • After a payment we receive whether it went through, the amount, the date and a reference, and nothing more about your card.

8. Cancelling, refunds and our guarantee

How to cancel, your 7-day cooling-off right, how and when we refund, the 12-month guarantee on our workmanship and how to complain are all in our Refunds & Cancellations policy.

9. Your records

Your estimate, quote and invoice stay on your job’s own link, with every payment listed as it lands, where you can open, download or print them at any time. We keep them for at least five years and send you copies whenever you ask.

You can print or save these terms, and every policy on this site, with the Print button at the top of the page.

10. Your account

  • You sign in with your own Google account, so keep it secure. Anyone who can open your Google account can open your ProSol account.
  • Your account shows your own jobs, addresses and offers. Tell us if you see something that is not yours.
  • We may close an account that is used to abuse the site or our staff.

11. Selling us your old equipment

Sending photos of a geyser, panel or other equipment starts a conversation. Nothing is binding until we have both agreed a price in writing and we have inspected the item.

12. Using this website

  • Use it lawfully, and do not try to get into any part of it or the systems behind it that is not yours.
  • Only send us someone else’s details or photos of someone else’s property with their permission.
  • Photos and text on this site belong to ProSol unless credited otherwise. Share a page by all means; do not republish it as your own.

13. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss from using this website or relying on general information on it. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and South African courts have jurisdiction. Complaints are covered in our Refunds & Cancellations policy.
